Our Max

I want to start my first post by thanking everyone for your prayers and support. There have been so many down times where we have been picked up by Jesus through your prayers. Please continue to pray for us as we continue this uncertain journey.

I have not posted until now....i guess for a few different reasons. I think mostly because I was scared because I am not a very good writer in combination with the common male trait of not being able to express or share my feelings, or maybe not wanting to......I'm working on that. Thankfully my wife is amazing at it, but if you have been reading this blog, then you already know this. I thank God every day for blessing me with Trisha as my wife.
I am so blessed to have such an strong, amazing, beautiful wife....she truly is my hero!

As you already know, we will finally get to meet our son face to face on Friday....I cant wait to see, hold, hug, kiss him. I am so very proud of Maxson, and December 5, 2008 (Max's first b-day), isn't even here yet. He is SO strong and been blowing the medical tests out of the water! I Love You Son.

I still dream and pray that I will one day get to teach Max how to kick a soccer ball, swing a bat, throw a football, fish, hunt and the list goes on and on, but I know that what I want isn't always the will of our Lord. However, I do find tremendous peace knowing that whatever happens, it is God's will, and God's will is ALWAYS right.

with love,

Dustin

Dustin and Trish,

I am praying.... I know the anticipation you must be feeling all too well. I know you must have received so much advice and all at this point, so other than telling you that I am praying, the only thing I will say is just be present. It will feel scary, uncertain, sad, and joyful all at the same time; but just be present. You will be so glad...

Praying for each of you as you prepare to meet sweet Max. This is such a bittersweet time. I know it all too well. Though it will be sad, you will be blessed by this amazing little guy God has chosen for you. Praying for your hearts!

I am praying for you in every way I can think of, asking God to hold you in His mighty arms. I pray for peace all week and clarity of thought and memory on Friday and the days to come. I also pray that God will bless you with time with Max.

Dear Dustin,

I know that this isn't what you and your amazing wife had in mind when you found out you were expecting your first child. But the plans that are laid out for our lives are not always our own plans and the blessings we can find on these unexpected and sometimes unbelievably difficult journeys are beyond all imagination. You both love your precious son Maxson more because of this journey -not less! You now have an ability to savor life's small blessings in a way you never could have without Maxson having been entrusted to you both! You are touching other people's lives, near and far, known and unknown, through your journey. And you, typical guy, are learning to open your heart in a way that no one but your sweet Max could have taught you!

I am keeping all of you in my heart and in my prayers as you walk these last few days to the BIG day when you will both be able to hold and see and kiss and love all over your most deserving and wonderful son.

A warm hug,
Christena

Dustin and Trish,

I am a newcomer to your blog, but I wanted to let you know that Max is being prayed for. I cannot imagine how difficult these next few days will be for you, but I pray that God will give you peace, understanding, and most of all, time with your sweet baby boy.

Here from Stacy's blog.

I too am here from Stacy's blog and will pray for you and your family.

‘‘along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them’ (Isaiah 42:16).

I just posted this to Stacy's blog. This was my devotion and I shared it with her and will share with you.

Stopping by to let you know you and your fa. mily are in my prayers. I know the journey you have taken all to well ... Our first daughter met Jesus before we got to meet her, at 32 weeks, due to Trisomy 18. May God bring you the peace, strength, and comfort He brought us through our journey with our sweet Hallie.

I jumped over from Stacy's blog and just want you to know that I am praying for both of you and Max. I pray for healing but also for peace and that you may both have the time you need and want if it is God's will that Max be with him. I hope you don't mind if I continue to check in on you and I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come.

You guys do not know me, but I found your blog through a friend. I will be praying so hard for your family this Friday and especially for sweet little Max. I delivered a triploidy syndrome baby (she had three of every chromosome) on 11-13-08...we were not suppose to have one second with our baby girl and the good Lord gave us a day! She was so beautiful but I completely understand your will to have time with Max. Keep your eyes turned on Jesus and he will lead you in the right direction. Good luck and I will get posted through your blog. Our stories are so similar and I feel your emotions!

Dustin and Trish,
I am new to your site - just coming to it today through Stacy's (Isaac)blog where I am a follower. I am sending many prayers to both of you...for comfort, for peace, for grace...enjoy this special time with sweet Max. I wish I could take the pain away.

I have not yet read your entire blog...but I will...but in reading your first post, Trish, one sentence spoke to my heart and was almost word for word what I felt almost 5 years ago. Your sentence - "I truly believed I had gone through the valley, as the fertility was very difficult but now I am learning that is not how God works."

I, too, have been through years of fertiliy treatments and was finally blessed with a twin pregnancy. Sadly and with no warning, I lost my precious Devin and Elizabeth at 22 weeks pregnant. I remember thinking "how can this be?" How could God let us go through the pain of wanting a child, only to give us 2, and then take them away. I still struggle with that question for myself, but also anytime I read of wonderful people like you and Dustin, Stacy and Spencer, Angie and Todd, The Mooney's...and so many others who have to feel this pain.

Know you are not alone. Holding you close.

Julie

I'm also here through Stacy's blog. I've just read your story through streams of tears, and then went down on bended knees to pray. You will be in our family's prayers for the rest of our lives. I'm praying for a miracle on Friday, that Max will be home for Christmas, this year and 50 years from now.

I will be praying for your little family as you anticipate the birth of little Max. You little guy sounds strong I will pray that you will have some time to love and dote on your little guy for every precious minute, hour or day he is here. Stacy D 's advice was perfect. Soak it up, don't hold back and follow your instincts when it come to his treatment and comfort. Take lots of pictures...even if you may not think they would look perfect...you will want them later. I will be thinking about you Friday as I hold each of you up in prayer.

Dustin and Trish,
You don't know me- I found your blog through another site. I will be praying for peace and comfort for your family. Luke 1:37 says "Nothing is impossible with God." I also wanted to make you aware of nowilaymedowntosleep.org. This is a wonderful organization that provides photographers to take pictures of your sweet baby boy free of charge. Just wanted to let you know, I didn't find out until it was too late.

Dustin and Trish, Be encouraged about the 37th week delivery. I had two babies born at 36 weeks who did fine, without the need for oxygen. I know t18 adds alot of other problems and issues but he will do well.
My second daughter was born at 36 weeks when I went into Pre eclampsia and my kidneys were shutting down. She had some learning disabilities but was able to graduate cum laude from college as a special education teacher. God will give you the grace for the journey you are on!!! You will be in my thoughts and prayers this Friday!!! Birthday Day Louise Muir

Dustin & Trish,

Thank you for the comment on our blog. I'm so glad to meet you and to read about Maxson's story. You are in my prayers this week.

My prayer is that you will enjoy every moment with Maxson - in the womb and after his delivery. God is with you each step of the way.

We are excited to see his birthday pictures. God bless you both.

Blessings,
Kirsten

That is so sad. Your son is beautiful and I am praying for him and you. My mom (Kayleen Erdman) was one of your nurses during that struggle and she remembers everything!! She was so sad when she came home from the hospital that day. Almost in tears!! I am so sorry for your loss... Im praying...! He is in a good place and he loves you so much. :)
